Practical Workplace Skills
When you’re managing VAT payments, whether for your own business or an employer, you need to know that your records and payments are accurate. However, VAT is an incredibly complex field that can be time-consuming to master without a comprehensive understanding of how to calculate payments.
Our one-day Introduction to VAT course will give you a comprehensive overview of the aspects used in the VAT accountancy procedures used to calculate VAT on a daily basis within most companies and organisations.
We will walk your learners through the basic principles of VAT rules and regulations, looking at how they are applied in practical terms in the maintenance and preparation of bookkeeping records.
Areas of learning will also include partial exemption, cash accounting and bad debt relief.
The course also covers compliance - explaining the importance of completing VAT returns correctly and the consequences for the business when they are not.
You will leave with a clear understanding of when a company should be charging output VAT and when a company would be approved to recover input VAT.
Learners will also receive practical instruction on how to complete a VAT return.
