Our Introduction to Payroll course is ideal for those new to payroll and will provide a comprehensive overview on the fundamental elements of payroll processing.
We will walk you through the basics and provide a number of practical exercises to implement and cement your knowledge.
You will leave with a clear understanding of the basics of payroll having covered (the core skills required to administer the payroll function) topics including:
- Requirements and routines of a payroll system
- The difference between employees and self-employed persons
- Gross pay
- Statutory entitlements, including Statutory Sick Pay
- Income Tax and PAYE system
- National Insurance
- Processing Leavers and Starters
