Course Overview

This course will keep accountants up to date with the very latest developments in accounting, auditing and related company law. The issues covered will relate to all sizes of company with a particular focus towards smaller, owner managed and entrepreneurial business. The first half of the course will cover accounting.  Auditing is in the second half.

  • Changes to the regulation of audit in the UK
  • The latest audit guidance from the FRC and ICAEW
  • Practical solutions to common issues

About John Selwood

John is a Chartered Accountant and independent training consultant. He lectures for major accountancy practices, professional bodies, training companies and publishers. In the past he has been the technical partner for a top thirty firm of accountants and head of an accountancy network. John is a member of ICAEW’s Audit and Assurance Faculty’s Practitioner Services Committee and has been involved with presenting and writing for the Audit & Assurance and Financial Reporting Faculty’s roadshows. He also writes for Audit & Beyond and is the author of Core Auditing Standards for Practitioners.
