Course outline
The Government are always looking to crack down on non-compliance in the OMB sector and we have seen many changes in recent years which affect this business sector. We have already had advance warning of other changes. This course will review current issues and the practical application for smaller companies. The content will be dictated by the announcement:
Provisional Course content
- The practical issues arising from the re-introduction of associated companies and the mitigation of higher corporation tax rates
- Extraction of profits from companies
- The changes to research and development tax reliefs and the impact on smaller companies
- Capital allowances changes including the FA2023 first year allowance provisions
- Issues for close companies including loans to participators
Course speaker
This course is presented by: Ros Martin
Ros Martin is a consultant and lecturer covering all aspects of direct tax and Stamp Duty Land Tax. She was an Inland Revenue fully trained Inspector until 2000 having worked in the Large Business Office as well as in the local district network. She left to become a consultant advising on tax planning for businesses and individuals as well as dealing with full and aspect enquiry work. She has since branched out to include lecturing in her business. The consultancy work gives Ros a particular opportunity to understand the key issues of concern for such professionals and consider the practical aspects of the application of legislation.
