Our Spring Accounts and Audit Update course will give you a practical, comprehensive and real-world overview of developments over the last six months as well as changes likely to occur in the near future.
The issues covered in this course will relate to all sizes of unlisted company with a particular focus towards smaller, owner managed and entrepreneurial businesses.
The course will cover accounting issues in the first half, with auditing following in the second half.
You will leave with a clear understanding of the latest changes to accounting standards, equipped with audit guidance from the FRC and ICAEW.

- The latest changes to accounting standards, namely FRS 102 and FRS 105
- Accounting for government aid
- Going concern disclosures
- Relevant changes to company law
- Companies House filing issues
- Changes to auditing standards, principally ISA 540 Accounting Estimates, ISA 570 Going Concern and ISA 700 Audit reports
- Key issues on auditor independence
- The latest audit guidance from the FRC and ICAEW
Course speaker
This course is presented by: John Selwood
John is a Chartered Accountant and independent training consultant who lectures for major accountancy practices, training companies and publishers. He is a highly articulate speaker who lectures specifically on money laundering, auditing and financial reporting, and he also writes technical material for publishers. Previously, he has been the technical partner for a top thirty firm of accountants and Head of CharterGroup the accountancy network. John is a member of the ICAEW Audit and Assurance Faculty’s Practitioner Services Committee and has been involved with presenting and writing the material for the Audit & Assurance Faculty’s highly successful Roadshows for a number of years.
