Are you ready for the new UK GAAP?

Most tax computations start with profit per the accounts, and profit per the accounts is changing under new UK GAAP. All involved in the preparation of accounts and tax computations need to be aware whether these changes affect taxable profit or need adjustment in the computation. These changes apply to all companies and businesses.

To help you prepare for these changes, Bill Telford will be leading a special White Horse Training CPD course on Monday 9th May.

Due to the overwhelming demand for this course, we will be offering a live webcast so you can watch it online from your own desk.

Course Overview

The new GAAP standards give a number of choices which have different tax implications. You need to assist clients to make the most appropriate choices. In addition, advisers need to understand the new rules on micro-companies and the reduced information provided to HMRC, ensuring that tax planning works, increasingly involves ensuring that the related accounting is correct. HMRC continue to challenge – and win – cases on the basis of incorrect accounting leading to incorrect tax, and recent cases have confirmed the importance of sound accounting arguments. Finally, tax practitioners and accountants are often required to prepare the deferred tax computation and draft the tax notes for the financial statements, and these are changing significantly.

To help you meet these requirements, this course will cover:

  • The development and application of the general principles
  • The tax computation in a year of change – adjustment income or expense
  • Dealing with HMRC on accounting matters
  • Accounting for tax – changes in the treatment and disclosure of current and deferred tax
